Lessons, our specialty, are available for the serious person and dog. Lessons may be private at our place or yours. Lessons on an individual basis may be scheduled during the week or on weekends. Group lessons or mini-clinics are also available on an occasional basis. A custom clinic can be arranged to meet your specific needs.
Lessons are available for any level from beginner to open level competitor. Often persons will schedule lessons for several days in a row to obtain a more varied experience.
Clinics are prescheduled for either a day or several days
to provide information to a group of people. The participants may be at any
level from beginner to open level competitor or a specialty clinic can be
arranged. A specialty clinic may be on any aspect of training, i.e. double
lifts, driving,, shedding, etc. Judging clinics are also available.
Clinics are also provided by nationally known handlers with great expertise to share with participants.
Let us know your interest in one of these and we will put
you on our list or consider your suggestions for a clinician.
At this time, we are not taking in outside dogs for training.
Beginning with a round pen, we will evaluate your dog and
determine when he is ready to move to an open area. We have seven acres of open
land, seven more acres of more challenging fields with obstacles and hills, and
a field nearby of ten acres of open land. Also available nearby is a farm of 100
acres with outruns in any direction and very challenging fields.
We maintain a mix of Katahdin sheep as well as wool sheep
for every variety of dog training needs. The ‘light’ katadhins make
interesting sheep for the more advanced dogs and the wool and dorset/katahdin
crosses are available for the younger dogs to help them have a good experience.
Guests are welcome to stay at the farm in their own RV’s with no hookups. A RV campground is one mile away. Several motels and hotels are within twenty minutes of the farm.
